We have training programs for everyone...for golfers who want to improve their swing, or juniors who want to make the team, or for sports people who want to achieve balance in body mechanics to stop niggly pain and of course for athletes who want to achieve peak performance. This page contains information for young, middle and senior people.
Our sports development and performance attitude helps young and older athletes develop according to sound training principles based on the physical, emotional and intellectual development level of each athlete. We strive to see all of our clients progress to the top of their athletic ability
The Sports Season
We strongly advise that we work with your child prior to each sport's season commencement.Ideally once a month or more after that.Helping young athletes reach their potential requires teaching skills that give children and teens the ability to mentally focus, to understand proper training techniques and how their bodies respond to training. These aspects encourage enhanced athletic development not only during development at a young age, but throughout their lifetimes.
Following an assessment each athlete receives an individualized strength and conditioning program which provides an athlete with everything they need to get ready month to month and for the next season. The age and ability specific programs will increase strength and power, decrease body fat, improve flexibility and balance, increase endurance and maximize recovery. New programs are issued every month to ensure maximum progress.
Junior & Senior Achievement Program
We have a unique appreciation of the role sports and academics play in the role of a child or teen or young adult. It has been shown that it takes a talented athlete 10 years or 10,000 hours of training to reach an elite level. This does not mean that everyone who puts in the time will become an elite athlete. The proper training has to be done at the right time. Our Athletic program combines daily sport specific activities that can improve performance on track/court/field/ice & indoor and outdoor field training. All our programs are built on a sound scientific foundation, using the latest research on young athlete development and performance. Our sports curriculum is flexible to allow for individualization based on stage of development and the physical abilities that are optimally trained at each stage of development. Many countries, particularly those in the former Eastern Block have had these sorts of programs in place for many years.
Nutrition
Proper nutrition is a key to both academic and athletic success. Eating the right foods at the right time can enhance mental focus and improve learning and the ability to concentrate on academic and skill related tasks. Well-designed pre and post exercise snacks will enhance recovery and improve the rate of improvement seen in all conditioning activities.
Typically between the ages of 8 and 14 children rely on their parents to make their meals and snacks. We believe in teaching responsibility and part of this is learning to be responsible for all aspects of your performance, including nutrition. The young perfermors will be shown what types of foods to eat and when to eat them.
Most parents are aware of the importance of good nutrition for their children but the subtle changes in eating and the timing of eating that are necessary for high performance are not common knowledge. To help parents and our young athletes make wise decisions about lunches and snacks for kids, we provide families with a set of nutrition guidelines prior to the beginning of the school term that outline nutritious options for lunches and snacks.
At EIT we encourage healthy competition within sport with emphasis on sportsmanship, encouragement and respect among school and team mates
